On Saturday, December 18, 2010, the fashion designer Tara Davis hosted a Holiday 2010 Trunk Show at the Hart Witzen Gallery located on 136th E 36th Street, Charlotte, NC. Several Charlotte socialites attended the event including: T Strong from Style Mayvin, Celebrity Stylist Maureen Royale, Interior Designer Rita Miles, LaVonnda Johnson with Elle VJ, and Fashion Designer Tara Davis just to name a few. All attendees were photographed on the Charlotte SEEN red carpet wearing amazing fashions and beautiful designs. Surrounding the venue were several vendors displaying everything from handmade jewelry, bottle openers, leather goods, candles, and health care.  The Charlotte SEEN team had an amazing time at the event and loved Tara Davis fashion collection.  Kudos!

Good Eats Toys For Tots

The Van Landingham Estate was an elegant setting for this fundraiser sponsored by Good Eats and Meets. The cold, rain and ice did not deter participation to this well attended event. Festive Holiday Cheer was evident on the dance floor, the red carpet and throughout the grand historic setting.

Toys were collected for the needy and donations were also accepted for charity. It was a wonderful way to kick off the Holiday!

Passport for Fashion on April 16th, 2011

At the office we are currently preparing for one of the Biggest Fashion Events to hit Charlotte,  North Carolina in 2011.  Charlotte SEEN is hosting a Passport for Fashion event on April 16th, 2011, which is an eco-friendly high-end fashion event involving the city's most popular Designers, Artists, Museums, Restaurants, Salons, Boutiques, and Schools. All involved are to design a couture piece made our of recyclable materials, which will then be featured on our own runway the night of the Passport for Fashion event on April 16th, 2011.

Second String Santa

The 21st Annual Second String Santa event was a huge success. Charlotte Seen was on the "Seen" with 3 step and repeat backdrops for this massive holiday charity event. This event has grown to become one of the largest charity events in the city. Each year this event raises money and delivers thousands of contributed gifts and school supplies to needy children in the Charlotte Area.

Beautiful people, holiday cheer, amazing location all add up to a spectacular event.

Dancing In A Winter Wonderland!

Red Carpet and very talented ballroom dancers combine for an incredible private Holiday Event. DanceSport Carolina hosted their 2010 Dancing In A Winter Wonderland event at Grand Central in Charlotte. Charlotte Seen was honored to be asked to participate in this exclusive VIP event.

With over 50 Ballroom Dance Performances representing "A Century Of Dance" the event was a grand spectacle of dancing at its best. Dancers will be performed routines that span the twentieth century in chronological order; from 1920's Buenos Aires style Tangos to modern day club Latin and everything in between!

This elegant evening of dance included a formal five course dinner, over 50 highly entertaining dance numbers, and a festive Holiday dance party!

Red Pump Red Tie Affair

JSW Media hosted the Red Pump Red Tie Affair, on World AIDS Day. This Gala was a fashion-themed cocktail party, complete with live music and entertainment, as well as a silent auction, an art showcase and a "Rock The Red Pump" mini-runway show. Prominent leaders in the community were honored for their individual efforts to raise AIDS/HIV awareness and education with the inaugural "Red Pump" Awards.

Live jazz colored the evening and the Charlotte Seen Red Carpet provided a great backdrop for some memorable photos.

Carolinas Aviation Museum Military Gala

The Carolinas Aviation Museum showcased their new facility while honoring Military veterans at this unique gala celebration.

An F22 Raptor - THE State-of-the-art military aircraft -  was flown in and showcased during the event. Audio/video presentations and motivational speeches highlighted this evening full of good food and hospitality.

T-Strong Stylemayvin was live at Banana Republic for Charlotte SEEN event.

30 under 30 Elevate Lifestyle and Suite

The regions brightest young talent and future leaders were honored tonight. Doctors, lawyers, activists, and philanthropists were among those honored.

Black and White Gala

The 2010 Black and White Gala was an evening full of first class details. The setting of the new Mint Museum of Art was a magical environment for this all-out event. Complete with our VIP Red Carpet, food catered by Something Classic, and live music, this evening one truly one to remember.

The Black and White Gala is Sponsored by The Young Affiliates of the Mint and raises money for a unique cause. The proceeds from this year's event will contribute to the acquisition of a large-scale bamboo installation by world-renowned Japanese artist Tetsunori Kawana. Kawana will work with a team of volunteers to complete his Charlotte-inspired sculpture.

Ties & Tails Gala

Imagine dogs invading the Uptown Charlotte Westin dressed in formal attire and entering the grand ballroom. Sitting politely around the formal dinner tables and proudly wagging their tails. The Ties & Tails Gala is a one-of-a-kind event sponsored by the Humane Society of Charlotte.

This second annual event was attended by over 370 supporters who enjoyed cocktails, live entertainment, dinner, dancing and a silent and live auction. This event raised over $129,000 and netted $83,000 to help Humane Society animals. 

Jewels for Jude at MEZ

The bling was displayed in high fashion at this Dance Party Fund Raiser at MEZ. St. Jude's Children's Hospital benefited from this "fun-raiser" as the DJ spun rhythms and the night spilled over onto the Charlotte Seen Red Carpet. Be sure to check out the photos...

Kentucky Derby is almost here. A little history fact.

One of the most famous horse races in the world has a unique and interesting history behind it. Held each year in Louisville, Kentucky, the derby has been dubbed "the most exciting two minutes in sports." The Kentucky Derby is also known as the "Run for the Roses" because of the 554-rose blanket that is placed around the winning horse's neck.

Want to be inspired? Louise Roth's Story

This is an amazing woman. We share a story about Louise Roth.

Louise Roth was born in Philadelphia PA. She was number 5 of 7 children born to Harry & Fannie Levenkrone. There were 6 girls and 1 boy. Louise graduated from Olney High School. She went to work in an office, helping out the family financially.

She met her husband H. Robert Roth (Bobby) and within a year of their meeting were married. Bobby was from Allentown, PA so they lived there for a while until Bobby’s job took him to Atlantic City NJ. While living in Atlantic City NJ they were blessed with a daughter Cindy Michelle Roth. Not long after Cindy was born, Bobby’s job took them to Charlotte NC.

Bobby was a Jewelry Manufacturers Sales Rep until he was diagnosed with Melanoma and passed away at age 46.

At age 35 Louise was left to raise and support her only child Cindy. Spending the years married to Bobby gave Louise much of her knowledge of the jewelry business and she went to work in sales with a local company here in Charlotte.

In 1994 Louise met Mardi Williams at that time owner of Lions Jewelers. They had a connection right from the start and Louise went to work for Lions Jewelers. Over the years Louise has worked to build her clientele and network to what it is today.

At age 30 her only child Cindy passed away from heart failure. This was very devastating but somehow Louise managed to get through another loss and move on with her life.

In 2002 Louise lost her lower left leg due to miss diagnoses and shortly thereafter her colon. With a prosthetic leg and ileostomy, Louise was back to work full speed by the Christmas Holidays. Through it all Louise has remained active in numerous causes in her community. Ask her to help; she doesn’t know how to say no.

And now in 2010, Louise has shown her positive attitude and determination to run for LLS Woman of the Year.

We met with Olivia Fortson recently with South Park Magazine and the Charlotte Observer. We shared our thoughts on events in Charlotte and how blessed we all our that so many wonderful events occur in the city. We also agreed that the elite events in Charlotte are a bit of a secret. What: Hosting an event celebrating the 25 Most Stylish People of Charlotte in 2010.

The event benefits the American Heart Association.

When: Saturday April 17, 2010 / Doors Open at 6:30 p.m. / Event begins promptly at 8:00 p.m.


The Scoop: Charlotte STYLE Magazine celebrates the 25 Most Stylish People in Charlotte. Hundreds of nominees have been submitted for consideration but only 25 have made the 2010 List of the Most Stylish People in Charlotte. Each honoree has made an impressive contribution to the Fashion, Business or Civic Community. Three of the Top 25 have been selected to grace the cover of the April 2010 issue. The cover will make its debut at the Most Stylish Event.


Another highlight of the event is the “Go Red” American Heart Association Celebrity Fashion Show. Various celebrities will strut their stuff in the “Hear Walk, Catwalk”. Those celebrities have committed to raising money to support the American Heart Association of Charlotte’s programs and activities.


And as another highlight of the evening, five of the most stylish boutiques and designers will showcase their 2010 Spring / Summer Collections on the runway.


At the conclusion of the event, each attendee will receive a complimentary copy of Charlotte STYLE Magazine’s debut print issue.
